The 23rd Annual Bradetich Double Bass Master Classes, June 20-25, 2010 at
the University of North Texas are for advanced high school and college aged
bass students. Five days of intense musical training include technique,
orchestral and solo playing and bass ensembles. This year the course begins
on Sunday, June 20th so participants may attend the final round of the
Bradetich Foundation International Double Bass Solo Competition and hear
some of the finest young artists in the world perform with orchestra. For

The First annual Bass Coalition Summer Bass Workshop and Solo Competition will take place June 24-26, 2010 on the campus of Shenandoah University-Conservatory in Winchester, VA, approximately one hour west of Washington, D.C. Clinicians will include Rufus Reid, David Murray, Inez Wyrick and Donovan Stokes. The Solo Competition will take place on June 24, 2010 with a top prize of $1000. The three day workshop will be packed with ensembles, masterclasses, one-to-one instruction and concerts. In addition to classical and jazz offerings, there will be clinics addressing alternative styles, Upright Slap Bass (Rockabilly/Psychobilly, etc.), amplification, loopers, EFX and more. The 2010 Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops, both 2-day and week-long sessions for beginning improvisers or seasoned pros of all ages, take place between July 3th and July 16th at the University of Louisville, Kentucky. at the Wanda L. Bass Music Center on the campus of Oklahoma City University.

Included are daily classes in technique, audition music, chamber music and
each day concludes with the "Bass Choir".

The 15th Annual Golden Gate Bass Camp will take place the week of July 19-25, 2010 at Holy Names University in Oakland California under the direction of Barry Green. Sligo Jazz Project, International Summer School and Jazz Festival, July 20-25, 2010, Sligo, Ireland. An international doublebass masterclass 2010 with Christine Hoock will be held at the Fondazione Musicale Santa Cecilia – Portogruaro, Italy from August 21 to 29.
