Mosaic artist Jackie Stack Lagakos' creative inner eye
blends bottles, smashed tile, mirrors, stained glass, stone and mortar to
give birth to unique bottle walls, benches, mosaic tile floors, birdbaths,
plaques, murals and paths. Her house and surrounding one-acre property,
where she lives with husband George, an ISB member, father Joe and dogs
Stella and Basso, is the canvas for her work. Her art was previously
featured on the cover of Vol. 28 #2 of Bass World. To see more of her work

The life-size stained glass mosaic on the
cover of this issue was created to honor the life of Robert Riccardi. Jackie
drew the outline from Robert's own beloved pear-shaped Italian double bass."Bob was bassist for The Pennsylvania Ballet for over thirty years and the
mentor and teacher of many Philadelphia-area bassists," says Jackie. "His loving, kind demeanor was reflected in his playing and his being."
